Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Crowds at Trafalgar Square Support Czechs. SHOTLIST: Peace Meeting In Trafalgar Square Thousands of people gather in Trafalgar Square for a meeting organised by the International Peace Campaign. Miss Ellen Wilkinson and Victor Gollancz address the crowd, which moves down Lower Regent Street to Grosvenor Place where they march past the Czechoslovak Legation. Taken from commentary: Well, whatever the details of the plan, and they will perhaps by known by the time you see this film ... the fate of Czechoslovakia inspires concern among people as well as Governments. The meeting in Trafalgar Square appears to have prejudged the results of the Hitler-Chamberlain meeting at Godesberg, and put its own construction on the situation. The eloquence of Miss Ellen Wilkinson is concentrated on support of Czechoslovakia’s case and the crowds proceed to the Czech Legation to express their sentiments.
