Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Marymass Day in Scotland. SHOTLIST: This ceremony consists of various tradition rites and a procession through the streets of the burgh of Irvine. A Queen is crowned. There is also a race meeting on the moor. Two-year-old children race then cart-horses. There is also a contest for removing a ham from the top of a greasy pole. The ham’s name is not given on the dope sheet.
