Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: King George at Launceston on Visit to the Duchy. DESCRIPTION: HM King George at Launceston on visit to the Duchy. SHOTLIST: Car arrived at the Launceston Castle. The King alights and walks through lines of cheering people. The King stands on dais. The Town Clerk reads from a scroll. Close shots of crowd of Boy Scouts. Other shots of men in the crowd, one with medals. Shots of the King on the dais. Shots of the King being presented with bowl of 100 shillings and a brace of Greyhounds. Pan down from the top of the Castle to ceremony below. Other presentations from the Duchy are made to the King in accordance with the ruling. A tenant wearing goat skin is seen with King. King presents each tenant with white rod with silver tip. Close up of the King confirming the tenancy. CU of the King raising his hat. He leaves the Castle after the ancient rites have been performed and continues his tour.
