Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: King of the Belgians Arrives on State Visit to Britain. DESCRIPTION: King of The Belgians arrives on State visit to Britain. SHOTLIST: Shot of the channel steamer ‘Prince Albert’ arriving off Dover. Salute being fired. Shot of the King on board. The Duke of Gloucester boards the ship past camera to greet the King. Shots of the greeting. They both walk down the gangplank. The King salutes at the base of same as the Belgian National Anthem is played. Shots of the Duke with the King. Train arriving at Victoria. The King is seen with the Duke of Kent, the Earl of Athlone. The British cabinet are also on the station. The King alights and is greeted. Open carriage from Victoria with the two Kings. On the route the carriage is cheered. The carriage enters the gates of the Palace. Followed by the usual horse guards. Shot of open carriage leaving Buckingham Palace. Close shot of the carriage past camera. The Duke of Kent wearing Bear skin is seated beside the King Leopold. The carriage passes under the Admiralty Arch through crowds of cheering people. Elevated shot of the arrival of the carriage at the Guildhall. The Royalty alight from carriage. Seen greeted by the Lord Mayor.
