Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: The Naval Review. DESCRIPTION: The Naval Review - From the Royal Yacht ‘Victoria and Albert’, the King, the Queen and Princess Elizabeth review the Fleet. There is also a strong foreign contingent at the Review with the ‘Admiral Graf Spee’ representing Germany. SHOTLIST: The King, Queen and Princess at Portsmouth welcomed by officers. Shot of the King and Queen boarding the Royal Yacht. King walking up gangway alone. Royal salute of 21 guns being fired. Shots of battleships. Close shot of the King in naval uniform. He receives on the ‘Victoria and Albert’ Naval men of foreign ships. Queen is seen talking with Sir Samuel Hoare and the Duke of Kent. The Princess Elizabeth leans over side watching ships with her cousin Lord Louis Mountbatten. Good shot this. With King, Queen, Princess Elizabeth walks along to the Bridge. ‘Victoria and Albert’ passing through lines of the fleet. Elevated shot of sailors giving three cheers for the King.
