July 18 - over 1,000 aircraft of Bomber Command bomb the Caen area, in five waves, delivering over 5,000 tons of bombs; on July 25, Lancasters bomb military college and signals stores at St Cyr; on July 28, Lancasters and Halifaxes attack troop concentrations in Villers-Bocage.
