MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: King Edward VIII’s Broadcast (First of reign). DESCRIPTION: The King’s words are illustrated by pictures from the Library. SHOTLIST: Arrives at Broadcasting House and is greeted. Panning shot of HM seated at table. CU. Good exterior shot of the BBC. Good interior shots of the organisation at work. Good shot of Radio towers (pylons). Shots of funeral of King George and wreaths. Carriage followed by Royal Brothers. King George V and Queen Mary on Balcony of Palace. Jubilee scenes, crowds and Royal drive. K&Q in carriage. King George V and King Edward VIII in Naval uniform (is this King Edward?). Good CU of King Edward in lounge suit. Series of dissolves from above shot. First in lounge suit greeting personalities wearing campaign ribbons. In scout uniform with Lord Baden Powell. In full dress with Busby taking the salute. Standing to attention in guard’s uniform. Another CU in lounge suit. Sprightly jumps into car. Wearing army uniform (as a very young man). Walking along quay side with another personality.
