MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: In Sadness He Passes. King George V. DESCRIPTION: The Nation, the Empire, the World stands still in sorrow as Britain’s beloved monarch goes to his peace. SHOTLIST: The coffin leaves Westminster Hall. The coffin on gun carriage drawn by sailors passes camera. King and Crown Prince of Norway, the Earl of Athlone and the Earl of Harewood follow. Kings of Denmark, Roumania, and Bulgaria and King Leopold of Belgium also follow. Shots of closed carriage in which the Queen Mary, Duchess of York, Princess Royal and Queen of Norway are riding. The carriage passes camera. Various shots of the procession and crowds on route to Paddington station, past the Cenotaph etc. The coffin is borne to train at Paddington. (Second Half 478ft) Shots of same being carried along at Windsor. Shots of the procession and King Edward VIII and brothers following same. The Queen is seated in closed Landau following up behind. Shots of Tower of Windsor Castle and Royal Standard flying. The coffin and procession enters church. Bishop stands on steps. (Archbishop of Canterbury). The Church is St George’s Chapel, Windsor. The coffin is taken into the church up the steps and the Archbishop waits at top. Shots of the landau arriving and the Queen Mary alighting. Following her other women of the Royal family including Princess Elizabeth. The remainder of the assembly mount the steps. Shots of the St George’s Chapel exterior. Interior shots of the ceremony and chapel.
