DESCRIPTION: HRH The Prince of Wales Makes a Royal Appeal To You On Behalf of King George’s Jubilee Trust SHOTLIST: Close and CU shots of the Prince making the appeal. Prince says: "I want to say a word about King George V Jubilee Trust it is not an Appeal to charity but a tribute to the King from the kindest people in this country who do not wish 1935 to pass by without leaving amongst us a living and permanent commemoration of this Jubilee year. With the approval of the King and Queen I have established this Trust, for the well-being of the rising generation of this country, and I can think of no cause which should have the national appeal. This Jubilee Trust will be able to assist the work of the existing Voluntary Youth Organisation of this country, it will help to provide money and better facilities for the education and recreation of girls and boys between the ages of 14 and 18. It can encourage in a far greater number of them to cultivation of abilities and craftsmanship ... it will enable branches of these organisations to be started in places where they do not exist and it will concentrate on areas rural as well as suburban where this kind of work has been held back by lack of local funds. There is no need for new organisations and the Trust will merely help and coordinate the work of those already in existence in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. I hope I have said enough to convince you that the object of this Trust is worthy of the organisation which it will be ... send contributions, however, small, to King George V Jubilee Trust, St James’s Palace, London SW1."
