Summary: NFTVA ‘Silent News Films’ (1965): "Welcome Your Majesty! Vast crowds give His Majesty The King a tumultuous welcome on his return to Buckingham Palace after nearly five months’ absence." Shots of the King and Queen in an open landau accompanied by Household Cavalry. (28 feet) "The assembled crowds demonstrate their delight at His Majesty’s restoration to health." Further shots of the King and Queen and their escort approaching Buckingham Palace. (47 feet) "The scene as viewed from the roof of Buckingham Palace." A roof-top view of the crowds round the Victoria Memorial and of the approach of the carriage. (100 feet) Members of the Royal Family are then seen on the balcony acknowledging the cheers - they include the King and Queen, the Duke and Duchess of York and the infant Princess Elizabeth.
