Summary
Berlin Zone Commanders meet on eve of Big Three Conference to plan feeding of city. Liner Queen Elizabeth takes 15,000 US troops home. Sir Reginald Dorman Smith returns to Rangoon to resume duty as Governor of Burma. General Slim’s victorious Fourteenth Army holds victory march in Rangoon. In newsreel interview General Slim sounds optimistic note on prospects of victory over Japan. At RAF display at Copenhagen new jet fighters and Mosquitoes armed with six-pounders are featured. On eve of departure for Berlin President Truman delivers final speech at San Francisco Conference.
