Babcock and Wilcox synopsis: Early in 1956, the Renfrew Works of Babcock & Wilcox, Ltd., were visited by the Brazilian Ambassador, who was received by Mr. H. McNeil, Deputy Managing Director, and Mr. D. D. Cruickshank, General Manager of Renfrew and Dumbarton Works, the occasion being linked with the establishment by Babcock & Wilcox, of a new works at Resende in the State of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The Ambassador is seen on his tour of the Works and Research Station and this item includes interesting shots of nuclear power plant under construction, and of the large new pipe manipulating shops then coming into operation. The commentary refers to the importance attached by B. & W. to the establishment of Works in developing territories overseas and to the Ambassador’s expression of goodwill towards the Company in its Brazilian enterprise.
