Summary
COI synopsis: Cancer at the neck of the womb can be easily cured at the early stages, but mass screening of women by the smear test is very time-consuming and expensive. A prototype computer system for scanning the smears is speeding up the screening process, and could be useful throughout the whole field of cancer diagnosis.
