Summary
NoS synopsis: The events at this year’s track competition are profiled. N. G. Gibson is seen during the hurdles event which he won, and then at high-jump, which he tied at a height of five foot six inches. The walking race was won by E. A. Cheesewright, champion since 1940, in thirty-seven minutes and eight seconds. He is seen crossing the line, having overtaken a straggler who is still two laps behind. The 100 yards women’s race was won by Miss J. N. Thorn, who finished in twelve and a half seconds. Lady Latham hands out the prizes.
