Summary

British Pathe synopsis: "Come with us to Kottbus, Germany, a busy county town on the Spree - (and well on it, on the annual Fair day!)" High angle shot of the town’s Cathedral. "All the surrounding folk pour into the town, and for one day, at any rate, Kottbus swells with pride, and surplus population." Low angle shot of people arriving in the town on bicycles. Some of the women wear large traditional head dresses. Shot of the cyclists arriving in town. M/S of hundreds of bicycles lined up. "Needless to say, the ladies of Kottbus are present in profusion, and in every style." Various shots of people walking through the streets of the town. Group of women stand by a market stall, laughing. They eat something which look like large gherkins. C/U of two children. High angle shot of large crowds at open air market. Women in large traditional head dresses look at the wares on offer. High angle of man wearing top hat doing some hard sell in a market vendor’s fashion. "All the fun of the fair - sex!" High angle panning shot of the fairground rides, various shots of different rides including a big wheel and a small roller coaster. Women in traditional dress on a ride - shot from the ride itself. They sit on swings and are pulled through the air. They laugh.
