Summary
NoS Summary - Keep fit routine demonstrated by Edith Mezey
British Pathe synopsis: "Edith Mezey, a famous young Hungarian physical culture expert, demonstrates just how to secure and retain that popular boyish figure." M/S of woman in black shorts and black long sleeved t-shirt performing keep fit exercises in a domestic setting. She bends her knees and rotates her arms. We see a back view of her legs as she stands on tip toe and bends her knees. She slowly gets closer and closer to the ground. She then straightens up again. "Only five minutes a day will be needed to run through the exercises. This balancing and strengthening movement is an excellent one." M/S of Edith standing on one leg and pointing the other out up in the air. She balances on one leg with arms outstretched. "Now for one combining arm, leg and back muscles’ exercise - don’t forget to keep the head erect." Edith bends down and puts her hands on the ground. She then bends and straightens her legs. She smiles broadly at the camera as she goes through her physical jerks. She kneels on the ground with one leg and lifts the other in the air behind her. She then kneels on the ground and lifts and sits on either side of her knees. She then sits with legs akimbo "Now, arm and leg exercise combined - keep knee rigid and smile. (The first hundred years are the hardest.)" Edith leans from side to side grabbing her ankles. She speaks to the camera but there is no sound. She bends forwards and puts her head on the floor between her legs. She stretches each leg up in turn and holds them beside her head. She then begins to stand up - film ends.
