Summary
NoS Summary - Models pose for the artist Fortunino Matania in his studio.
British Pathe synopsis: C/U of paintings by the artist Fortunino Matania, they are painted in a classical style with many curvaceous semi-nude women. "A Policeman’s lot may not be a happy one, but lots of us must envy the famous Artist with his, apparently, carefree method of life." C/U of the artist - very bohemian in smoking jacket and bow tie. C/U of the artist’s model. A woman dressed in skimpy white robe posing with a bow and arrow. Fortunino arranges her robe and hair to his liking. C/U of the woman posing. C/U of Fortunino at his easel. M/S of the model. C/U of artist as he looks towards the model and away again. He smokes a cigarette as he paints. M/S of model. C/U of his sketch of the woman. M/S of the artist smoking and sketching. Camera tilts upwards to show the body of the model. "Incidentally, millions of us may remember the famous war picture of Mr Matania - "Goodbye Old Pal" - of a contrast to the present work." C/U of the artists’ sketch as he depicts the woman sitting upon a horse. We see the picture take shape. Various shots of the artist, his muse and the picture. "Historical figures of past days and many climes pass through this studio - the utmost pains being taken to ensure absolute correctness in every detail." M/S of a woman taking off her coat and hat. She smoothes down her hair. Dissolve into shot of the same woman wearing a classical costume. C/U of the woman who wears ornate jewellery and a head dress. M/S tilt down of her dress. M/S of Fortunino arranging the models in a pose to his liking. Various shots of the three models who are posing for him. He tickles one of the girls under the chin and she laughs. "As we implied before, it seems to be a great life." M/S of the models all sitting around together in the studio. One of the men plays a guitar and the others sway to his music.
