Summary

NoS synopsis: "And old Spanish costumes, when the gypsies convert the nearest road into a ballroom..." Two women dance a Flamenco in a village street. Musicians and spectators watch the dancing. C/U of one of the dancers playing castanets. "The ladies in the orchestra encourage maximum noise at minimum expense." Panning shot of a dozen women playing the castanets. "And just round the corner the washing ladies of the village listen to another kind of music - the river." High angle shot of women doing their washing in the river. "Whilst Ma labours, Pa just sits and smokes - and makes sure the clothes don’t vanish..." M/S of man sitting on the ground smoking with a washing line behind him. L/S of women washing clothes in the river. Shot in Spain.
