Summary
Pathe Summary - When is a pot not a pot? When it’s a lobster pot - for it is a basket! These Cornish Fisher girls are very adept at making them.
NoS synopsis: "When is a pot not a pot? When it’s a lobster pot - for it really is a basket - !" M/S of two fishermen loading their boat with lobster pots. "Eve carries a wicked right on this job..." M/S of two women trimming reeds for making pots. C/U of tool being used on the reeds - a sharp hand tool. M/S of the two women working together to make the pots. Reeds are threaded into a base and then woven. C/U of weaving in progress. "Now comes the peculiar shaping so dear to a lobster..." The reeds are bent backwards. ‘More still - ' ' - and more’. More shots of the pots taking shape. "Still more for this Devon job." Various shots of the pot being completed. M/S of completed pots being stacked up. Woman lifts and moves a pot.
