- British Pathe synopsis: "Sheer steel - glittering and flashing in the hands of supple wristed ladies." M/S of group of women practising their fencing skills. Closer shots of the girls as they fence. They wear fencing outfits and helmets. "If you want to keep fit, summer or winter, fencing is an ideal pastime, " says Leon Bertrand, the famous fencer." More shots of the girls lunging at each other with their foils. "Lithe bodies are needed for the lightning-like lunges and parries, and a quick eye and brain to take advantage of any slip or mistake." High angle shot of a duel taking place. C/U of the blades clashing. A teacher or competition judge stands behind the girls as they do battle.
