- NoS synopsis: "Old Middelburg, Holland, where once a week in the shelter of the Town Hall the great market foregathers - " Low angle of the clock tower of the Town Hall. L/S of the imposing Town Hall building. Camera tilts down to reveal market stalls in the square in front of the Town Hall. "By steam-tram, barge, and Shank’s Pony, they converge on the Square." M/S of a barge travelling down a canal, windmill in the background. C/U of a local man who wears a black cap and looks rather serious. L/S of a tram travelling beside the canal towards the camera. Lots of steam emerges from a funnel on top of the tram. M/S of lots of Dutch folk climbing down from the tram into the street. Most of the women wear traditional dress. Street scene - traffic. Cars move towards the camera. Women rush along with their shopping bags. "Covered wagons, too, are here - " M/S of a row of covered wagons. A horse pulls one of the wagons towards the camera.
