Summary
British Pathe synopsis: Beautiful shot of three glamour girls lazing around in an art deco interior. They wear swimsuits and swimming hats, one smokes a cigarette, the other two read magazines. Ladies of leisure presumably a little bored! Intertitle reads: "The bathing suit of the Season (including contents). We discovered a group getting ready for the beach." Another girl appears and puts a strange looking rubber ring around one of the others’ necks - the girls laugh. The newcomer shakes the hand of the rubber ring girl. She then produces two massive lollipops for the other two girls. She then shows off her outfit to the girls. She undoes one side of the skirt, then the other to reveal her costume underneath. She poses for the girls. C/U of one of the girls’ feet and legs, showing off her shoes. She turns over on her stomach to display the shoes. Camera pans up to show her looking at a magazine. She turns to face the camera. The undressing girl takes off her jacket and throws it onto the floor. She then parades around in the doorway, showing off. Intertitle reads: "These are designed to make the wild waves wilder..." Through a camera trick a woman in a bathing suit gradually appears on screen with a ghostly effect. She walks towards the camera opening her coat to show off the outfit. She turns to show the back of the coat she is wearing over her swimsuit. She then walks towards the wall and mysteriously disappears again. Using the same camera techniques, another woman appears and disappears like a spectre. She turns to model her silk pyjama like outfit. Intertitle reads: "And just as pretty from any angle..." Low angle shot of a woman in a swimsuit. The image is framed inside a black masking device. The woman looks down towards the camera in a pretty sexy, sultry manner! She turns her body and fiddles with a scarf she is wearing. She smiles, looks coy and puts her coat on. Folding her arms at the end of the performance in a kind of reverse striptease. Intertitle reads: "Designing!" Using arty camera dissolves, abstract patterns on the screen are revealed to be the design on a parasol twirled by one of the models. C/U of her as she turns the parasol and smiles.
