NoS Summary - San Francisco’s Chinatown telephone exchange.
British Pathe synopsis: "Chinatown, San Francisco, has the quaintest Telephone Exchange so far - " reads an intertitle. Low angle shot of a pagoda style building, the camera pans down to the entrance. Two men stand in the doorway, another man comes out of the building. Interior of the building. Backs of five telephone operators sitting on swivel chairs. "No wrong numbers here - they use queer names and queerer characters - " M/S of a supervisor (a woman) walking behind the girls as they work. C/U of two men standing in front of the girls and talking. "By some Celestial mystery the girls know just how to connect Hung Far Below to Won Lung Too." C/U of one of the girls at work connecting callers. She smiles at the camera.
