- NoS Summary - An oval house at Rottingdean designed by a Sea captain.
British Pathe synopsis: Introductory intertitle reads: "We’re all interested in houses - and by the cliffs at Rottingdean, Brighton, Eve discovered a really novel one - " Sussex. Woman in a hat stands on the balcony of a house with the sea and cliffs in the background. She looks out at the view. "The entrance is through a steep bank!" We see the woman approaching a tiny door in a large bank of earth. She goes inside. We then see her emerge at the balcony at the top. She walks up the steps to the door of the house. She walks through the front door. "Plenty of light giving windows - " A woman sits playing the piano whilst a young boy stands beside her. High angle view of the house to show the large amount of windows. The shadow of the cameraman hand cranking his camera can be seen on the house. "Designed by a Sea Captain, cute ideas were to be expected. A model bed - " The woman seen earlier demonstrates a small model of a fold down bed. We then see the woman pulling down the bed. "A real airy promenade too - on the roof!" Woman climbs step ladder on to the roof of the house. She stands on the roof enjoying the view and the sea breeze. - Keywords
