Summary
NoS Summary - the Evolution of boots from 1896 to the present.
British Pathe synopsis: Begins with a "flashback" sequence to when "Auntie’s" Wellingtons were short and out of sight (in 1896). A woman in clothes appropriate to the era appears like a ghost through camera trickery and displays her Wellingtons by lifting her skirts. C/U of boots. An example of 1913 Wellingtons. A "Land girl" modelling some Wellingtons whilst feeding the ducks. 1925 Russian high boots craze - the shortening of "Eve’s" skirts led to lengthening of the boot. 1928 - Wellingtons with contrasting bright vamps and dull legs are modelled. A hunting style of boot is modelled. Very good C/U shots of lots of different boots. One pair has unusual leather with a cobweb motif. A group of 7 women dressed from styles ranging from 1896 to present day walk towards the camera.
