British Pathe synopsis: Miss Joan Brunton is the little girl swimmer who astonished everybody by swimming from Dover to Deal - (10 miles) in 2 hours and 51 minutes. C/U of some flowers, suddenly Joan stands up in the middle of them with a big smile on her face. C/U of Joan sitting with her dog. Another C/U of Joan in a dress which then dissolves into a C/U of her wearing her swimming hat and swimsuit. Joan skips with a rope on the beach. "Joan just can’t help keeping fit - but she’s already watching the weighing machine closely - (and the 9st 4 lbs it registers now!)" Joan stands on the scales in her swim gear. C/U of her laughing at the scales. Joan is hoping to swim the Channel in 1929. M/S of Joan in training, she swims beside a boat where her coach sits giving her instruction. Various shots of Joan swimming. "But, she can’t resist chocolate!" Her coach feeds her with chocolate as she swims. "- or a chance to snap Ma and Pa!" Joan holds a cine camera and takes some shots of her parents in their garden. C/U of her holding the camera.
