British Pathe synopsis: Joe Noble animation. Featuring Sammy and Sausage - a cartoon dog. Opens with Sammy and Sausage shaking hands. M/S of Joe Noble (live action) trying to fix a vacuum cleaner. "It’s broken again." Sausage says something to Sammy. "Ha! You should get one like we had..." A strange contraption is illustrated. Joe continues to work on his Hoover. "Really! I’ll come up on the easel and you can tell me about it." Sammy holds out the welcome mat. "He’s here" he shouts. "Be Seated" The live Joe Noble is superimposed on the animation. All three of them sit down and Sausage says "First we tried it in the Street" L/S of a town street. A man with a bandaged foot walks along with two sticks. Sammy and Sausage hold the suction end of their strange vacuum contraption. Sammy says "Let’s turn it on old gouty" They turn their machine on and through film reversal we see the man with the bandaged foot running backwards - seemingly being sucked into the vacuum cleaner. Sammy and Sausage laugh. Sausage says "Next we took it to Trafalgar Square." Moving shot of Trafalgar Square showing traffic. Sammy and Sausage set their contraption in motion and the traffic appears to move backwards. "But our finest achievement was..." Sammy and Sausage stand on a wall outside a zoo. M/S of an elephant passing the camera with passengers seated on its back. They start up their machine. The elephant appears to walk backwards. Then a camel. C/U of Joe Noble who says "Did the Elephant go in too?" He shakes his head as an animated elephant runs along beside him. Sausage says "Sure" then he and Sammy link arms and do a little dance. Joe stands up and says "I don’t believe a word" He appears to then light a very long pipe. Sammy comes along with his vacuum cleaner and sucks Joe in. Sammy and Sausage stand beside their contraption and laugh as it bulges and shakes.
