Summary
NoS Summary - Ralph Lynn and Tom Walls at the New Aldwych Theatre, London.
British Pathe synopsis: Excerpts from the farce "Thark" at the New Aldwych Theatre in London. "This infernal old house of Thark is haunted" Ronald (Ralph Lynn) had just told Sir Hector (Tom Walls). The two actors sit at a dining table in a grand old house. They both wear black suit and tie and one of them wears a monocle. They sip sherry. They look around suddenly, as if spooked. A door opens and another man enters, also in black suit and tie. He is the sinister looking butler. C/U of him looking wild. "I am the Butler, Sir. They call me Jones, here, but my real name is ‘Death’!" C/U of Tom Walls looking perturbed. His monocle falls out. Ralph Lynn eats something, Tom just drinks some more and pulls some faces. "Prior to sleeping in the bedroom Tom and Ralph have a little argument over the bed - " The two men fight over the bedclothes. Tom falls out. We then see them sleeping, cuddled up together. The door opens and a posh looking couple enter the room. They express consternation to each other then leave and close the door. Tom wakes up and gets scared. He wakes up his friend and they both look scared. Candlesticks suddenly fall off the mantelpiece and a picture falls off a wall. Tom bangs a gong that is beside the bed. Ralph stands on the bed with a shotgun in his hand. Lots of people come running into the room. Incomplete.
