Summary
NoS Summary - women and young girls fishing/angling on a riverbank.
NoS synopsis: "And if there’s any art less gentle (except to the fish) than angling, Eve would like to know it." reads the introductory intertitle. M/S of a group of women sitting on a river bank with long fishing rods. M/S of a small girl (about 5 years old) looking very excited about having a fishing rod. M/S of the girl as she holds up a fish she has caught - grandfather (or elderly man) stands beside her. "Twelve ounces now - it’ll be two pounds tomorrow!" C/U of the girl looking intently at her fish and smiling. C/U of a woman putting bait on her hook. She looks at the camera and laughs. "Mind you, Adam makes a handy helper". A man with a pipe stands beside her. Various shots of women and female children being assisted in their angling by older men. "And here’s another". C/U of a young girl (again about 5) looking enthralled as a maggot is put on the end of a hook. An older woman - in her 50s perhaps - reels in a fish. She holds up the fish with glee. Elderly man takes the rod and she unhooks the fish. Woman holds up a keep net with several small fish in the bottom - C/U - she looks very pleased with her catch. "The Band of Hope!" L/S of the fishing party.
