Summary
COI synopsis: The sounds a child utters in early life are often meaningful only to its mother. But gradually the child learns a language familiar to us all. Just how it does this is the subject of research at Bristol University, and local families are helping by allowing their conversations to be "bugged" from time to time, and then analysing them with researchers later.
