- Summary
- COI synopsis: Australian Vicki Luke visits Simpson’s, the old-established store in London’s Piccadilly, where there was recently an exhibition displaying the work of 26 designers, covering the entire spectrum of British fashion for Autumn 1979. She discovered that through the generosity of everyone involved, the entire exhibition - clothes, accessories, display mannequins and the designers’ original working drawings, are to be donated to the Victoria & Albert Museum. So what began as a department store attraction will become a small but important part of one of the world’s finest historical costume collections.
