- Summary
- COI synopsis: Many youngsters long so desperately to own a car - which for them is the ultimate status symbol - that they completely disregard the law, and go out and steal one. A revolutionary method of rehabilitating these young delinquents is now being used in South East London: they’re given old wrecks which they work hard to repair and - for one night of glory - they have the chance to become a racing driver.
- Researcher Comments
- Includes footage from commercials for Vauxhall Chevette and Cavalier cars and an interview with Alan McKennedy who runs the Ilderton Motor Project. NB: Information drawn from the Australian version. ‘London Line, No. 597’ ran the same story
