- COI synopsis: Since 1875, when Richard D’Oyley Carte formed his own company to perform the comic operas of Gilbert and Sullivan, the D’Oyley Carte Opera Company have been wandering minstrels, entertaining audiences throughout Britain, Europe, Canada and the United States. Vicki Luke visits the D’Oyley Carte backstage, shortly before they undertake their first tour of Australia, and finds out what it is like to be "on the road" for forty eight weeks of the year.
