Summary
COI synopsis: Maggie Palmer visited the Design Centre just off Piccadilly Circus, to discover anything new and outstanding in industrial design in Britain. The choice was very wide, from advanced engineering to children’s toys. Of the various prize winners Maggie chose two. So this week she investigates firstly a breakthrough in airport safety and secondly a new method for the mass production of sailing boats, a method that can now be adopted to many other manufactures. But there is so much in the field of industrial design still to be covered, that she experts to go back later for more.
