Summary
COI synopsis: The tension in a sailing boat’s rigging is adjusted with a bottle screw, and a surgeon who’s a spare-time sailor has modified this device to take a leap forward in spinal surgery. A titanium version of the bottle screw, surgically inserted, can straighten even severe cases of curvature of the spine. An amazing case of a hobby inspiring one’s work!
