- Summary
- COI synopsis: The energy required to make just one knitted pullover is enough to keep a 100 watt bulb aglow for 24 hours. Most of this energy is spent in boiling great vats of water and dye and steaming the wool in these vats for hours to fix that dye. Now a Scottish firm has developed a system which saves much of this wasted energy; the wool is merely dampened, and the dye fixed to it in an adapted microwave oven.
