Summary
COI synopsis: Oxygen levels are crucial for keeping apples fresh in storage; if these levels are too low, the apples begin to ferment, giving off alcoholic fumes before becoming tasteless and rotton. But now a modified breathalyser is used to sniff out the alcohol in the apple store. The slightest whiff indicates to the farmer that the automatic oxygen ventilating systems are out of order. He can thus repair them before his apples are damaged.
