Summary
COI synopsis: Alarm systems - often a crucial element in securing safety, but they can also have a critical role to play in ensuring efficiency in other areas. Homing in on a workpiece in a lathe is often asking the human eye to gauge minute distances that are really beyond its capability. A tiny alarm system sits on the machine now to send out immediate signals when the workpiece is being approached and to indicate, precisely, the actual moment of touch-down.
