Summary
COI synopsis: Certain scientific developments have an immediate appeal - an appeal based on their inherent elegance. This issue looks at four ideas in science which, echoing the elegance that dominates the natural world, offer us an "elegant solution". An elegant principle for getting anti-cancer drugs to the right target. The drug is enveloped in micro-capsules of fat, and only as these are devoured by the rapidly dividing cancer cells do they release their deadly cargo.
