The closing scenes of one of the most spectacular battles ever fought in the streets of New York. Having murdered a policeman and seized £1,000 intended as wages, three robbers led their pursuers a long chase through the city, shooting down police and bystanders before being cornered in Dyckman Street and slain. In all six were killed and eleven shot in the outrage. SHOTLIST: Shots of the taxi cab bullet punctured with police gathered round same. Crowds in streets. Police hustle children off the scene.
