- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: The Boat Show. DESCRIPTION: Mrs Margaret Thatcher officially opened this year’s Boat Show at Earls Court and took a trip across the pool in the Royal Navy’s jackstay which is normally used to transport goods and personnel between ships at sea. Popular with the younger visitors to the Show was the pool and wind machine that allowed them their first try at dinghy sailing. Boats in all sizes and price ranges were on display.
