Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Royal Tour in Germany. DESCRIPTION: Her Majesty the Queen and Prince Philip arrived in Bonn at the start of their five day State Visit to West Germany to be greeted by President Walter Scheel. The Queen and Prince were given a warm welcome by the citizens of Bonn when they made the first ‘walkabout’ of the tour in the Marktplatz. On Prince Philip’s itinerary the following day was a visit to the Manching to see the ‘Tornado’ Combat aircraft which is being built in a joint project by Britain, German and Italy. The Royal couple then lunched at the Palais Schaumberg with German Chancellor Helmut Schmidt and Frau Hannelore Schmidt. In her speech to the people of West Berlin the Queen reaffirmed the close ties they have with the British people.
