- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Telephone for the Deaf. DESCRIPTION: At Osbourne House, a hundred years after Alexander Graham Bell presented the telephone to Queen Victoria, Earl Mountbatten makes a Trans-Atlantic call to Bell’s grand-daughter. A new system of communication using the telephone and a television set was demonstrated by the Post Office. The system, called Viewdata, should open new horizons for the deaf.
