- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Japanese Kite Battles. DESCRIPTION: At Hammamatsu in Japan a holiday is declared on the day of the Kite Battles. A group of the large Kites is launched and then the battle begins, with razor blades added to the kite strings. The object is to saw through opponents strings and bring down the kites. SHOTLIST: GV spectators. MS children. MS men carrying banners. MS crowd. MS large kite. MS kite strings. CU kite. MCU man holds kite up. MS man fires razor knife to kite strings to cut rivals kites down. Various of kites. Various shots of kites in air and of kites being cut down. Shots of the winning kite.
