Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Outback Rodeo. DESCRIPTION: At Goulburn in the Australian Outback, both men and women compete in the events of the Rodeo. In the ‘Ribbon Dogging Event’, an event devised to include women in the Rodeo, the winner was 10 year old Vicki Gorman. Many bumps and bruises were collected by the competitors trying to stay on a bucking bull the longest. SHOTLIST: GV people riding horse, pan to larger group. MCU horse’s face. MCU horse. MS pan round competitors. MCU two horses. MS competitor in saddle. MCU feet in stirrups. MCU man’s face. Shots man putting spurs and overtrousers on. MS man on horseback. MS gate opens and steer charges out followed by Jenny Gooch who tries to get ribbon off its back. MS Coleen Davidge succeeds in getting ribbon off. MS Gina Tompanis also succeeds, MLS Bonnie McLean does not succeed. MS man watching. MS 10 year old Vicki Gorman succeeds and also wins the contest. People watching. MS Michael Piper in bucking bronco contest falls off. MS Rick Wilson on horse. MS Colonel Bailey thrown before horse leaves chute. MS Tony Oxford bucked off. Ambulance comes out and doctor goes over to see him. Oxford gets up and walks away. MS cowboy about to start bull-riding contest (vicious). MCU bull’s face. Bull out of gate with Philip Robinson trying to ride him but gets thrown. Dale Ralph on bull also gets thrown. Another attempt but no success. MS Johnny Mills also thrown. Eddy Welson also thrown. Various shots of cowboys trying to ride bull and being thrown, among them Ralph Eliot and Rick Wilson.
