MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Middle Sea Yacht Race. DESCRIPTION: Thirty-five yachts set out from Valletta Harbour, Malta for the Middle Sea Race. Ahead of them was four and a half days at sea, sailing a course around Sicily and its surrounding islandsThere were yachts from nine countries in the race, with Italy having a contingent of fourFirst across the line was ‘Gitana’ of France, but when the computer had been put to work it was ‘Sumbra Four’ of Italy that took the Trophy.
