- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Cup Final Newcastle / Liverpool Colour. DESCRIPTION: HRH Princess Anne and Captain Mark Phillips in the Royal Box, for the 1974 Cup Final. Newcastle have won five times, and never lost an FA Cup Final at Wembley. Liverpool are the best team in the country said their Manager Bill Shankly. Newcastle kicked off - no goals scored in the first half. Liverpool kick off in the second half - and eventually crushed Newcastle in a steam-roller victory - three goals give the Merseysiders something to shout about and the FA Cup for 1974. CU general play Newcastle Smith passes out to right wing who passes down to McDermott, centres and Hibbitt shoots but goalie saves & throws back into play. CU various players. Zoom in GV to MS Newcastle’s Hibbitt falls with twisted knee, Liverpool’s Hall passes, play continues towards goal but Newcastle goalie clears, zoom into Hibbitt on ground. Crowd. GV Play continues as Keegan passes to Callaghan, game stopped. CU Hibbitt on ground. GV trainer and players crowding round Hibbitt. CU Newcastle fans. Liverpool’s Smith with ball passes to Callaghan who passes to Steve Heighway who dribbles down left wing & shoots but goalie saves and kicks clear. CU players, GVs Liverpool and Newcastle crowd. END OF 1ST HALF. 2ND HALF (410’) GTV Liverpool KO R to L, Newcastle take possession & attack up field. SV pan Newcastle player dribbling with ball passes to team mate who kicks to centre. GV Newcastle shoot & goalie Clemence saves & clears. CU Newcastle & Liverpool player heads ball. GV Liverpool attack up field, ball is centred near Newcastle goal, ball is passed back Lindsay who shoots, goalie McFaul saves. SV crowds. GV. GV Play (Length FTS V.L) CU Play. GV Smith shoots to centre for Keegan to tap the ball in, pan to Keegan being congratulated. SV Liverpool Crowds. LV Liverpool goalie Clemence with arms above head. GV excited crowd.
