By historic etiquette, the two representatives of the King-Emperor never meet on Indian soil. Sub.2. In the Convention Hall, Lord Willingdon takes the oath of the office, to which he succeeds on departure of Lord Irwin. Sub.3. Meanwhile, Lord Irwin bids goodbye to native Princes at a Farewell Garden Party. Sub.4. And so the parting ruler, voicing his faith in India returns home through the Gateway.
