MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Mintoff Signs. DESCRIPTION: At last after nine months of negotiations between Britain & Malta, a new seven year defence plan has been agreed. Mintoff will get £14 million per year, plus 2 1/2 million from Italy. Malta will continue to be a NATO base. No Warsaw Pact countries will be allowed to use Malta. SHOTLIST: LV Mintoff’s car arriving at Marlborough House. CU Maltese pennant on radiator of car. GV Marlborough House. SV interior Mintoff & Lord Carrington seated at table signing agreements.
