- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Stamp Award. DESCRIPTION: For the first time in 25 years, Britain wins a stamp award in a stamp design competition held in Paris. Apart from French stamps, it was judged to be the best of any European stamp. The stamp in question was commemorating the 1,900th anniversary of the founding of the City of York. SHOTLIST: SV Mr George White Director of Postal Marketing in fore ground with Mr Roger North, President of the French Philatelic Traders, looking at stamps. SV Sir Walter Scott stamps 1771 - 1832 and Thomas Grey 1716 - 1771 (Scott stamp 7 1/2p, Grey stamp 5p) pan to John Keats 1795 - 1821 (3p). SCU White & North looking at stamps. CU University stamps.
